Gonna Twitter, but still value Facetime over Facebook

Vancouver, BC, January 20th

I am learning yet another tool in Web 2.0, social networking and how they all link up. As a downtown realtor and condo specialist it is important to have up to the minute information and to be able to be in touch through the tools that my clients use as well. Today I knew that bank rates dropped the minute it happened. And I found out that a client was running late for our meeting via Twitter.

Any tool that benefits my clients is one that I want to have command of. "Facetime" in person meetings are more important than Facebook, and phone calls are most often better than email or text messages. All forms of communication have their place and I hope to use them all wisely.

Ultimately, my friends, family and clients decide what works for THEM. My nieces and nephews live on Facebook. Maybe I can teach them to tweet on Twitter. My friends often text to see if it is a good time to yak before calling. And documents are easily sent via my internet fax or pdf via email, and forwarded from my blackberry. So it's all good. Sometimes overwhelming, but necessary to make that deal happen. And to have a few laughs too.
